The Tick-TockThe "Tick-Tock", also called idle or idling, is probably one of the most basic juggling stick tricks there is. This trick will help you to fully control the juggling stick, especially in the future with other more difficult tricks. In effect this trick can teach you what is called "The Touch", This means you are able to add just the right amount of force to the juggling stick at just the right time, giving you compleat control over the juggling stick as it flips, tumbles and flies through the air. Start this trick off by balancing the juggling stick parallel to the plane of the horizon with both handles under opposite ends of the juggling stick. Take one of the handles away quickly and let the other end of the juggling stick drop down towards the ground. At the same time use the other handle to give the other end of the juggling stick a toss up and slightly over towards the other handle. This will cause the top end of the juggling stick to flip over its' center point and over to the other handle. As the top end of the juggling stick starts to flip over it's center, position the other handle so that you can catch the juggling stick with it. The handles should hit the juggling stick halfway in-between the middle and the top end or about 3/4 of the way up from the bottom. Gently catch then quickly tap the juggling stick back up and over in the opposite direction to the original handle. The bottom half of the Devilstick should look like a pendulum on a grandfathers clock going from side to side. Repeat the pattern back and forward between the two handles, keeping the handles above the center point. If this is to difficult at first you can start off by kneeling on one or both knees and let the bottom of the juggling stick rest on the ground or on the top of a table as you tap the top end back and forward until you are able to keep the bottom of the juggling stick off the ground.
